Hello to both our new and returning families! We hope that you all have had an exciting and fun first couple of weeks back in the studio. We look forward to what the year brings!
A couple of important notes as classes start:
Parents’ and Students’ Handbook
Our handbook is a great tool to help keep information easy to find, all in one place. If you haven’t already read through it, please do so at your earliest convenience. You can find it under the About tab on our website or a hard copy can be available upon request. This is the best reference for any questions you might have. If you are unable to find the answer to your question after looking through the Handbook, feel free to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we would be happy to assist you.
Table of contents for the Handbook
1 – Introduction
2 – Studio Manifesto
3 – Registration/Placements
4 – Communication
5 – Important Dates
6 – Code of Conduct
7 – Age Groups
8 – Safety
9 – Privacy

16- COVID-19 Policies
Email is how we communicate all of our important messages to you. To ensure you are receiving our emails, please add jackrabbittech.com to your safe list. You can also view all our sent messages through your portal when you log in. We recommend checking there if you find you haven’t been receiving bi-weekly emails from us.
Do I Need To Wait In The Reception Area?
Due to the current nature of COVID-19, our lobby is closed to parents and families as it is being used as a waiting area for our dancers. Parents of our Tiny Stars dancers are asked to remain in the lobby to assist with needs for that age group. As we are using the lobby as a waiting area, we must keep it open and are unable to keep chairs set up. You are welcome to bring your own camp chairs with you if you wish.
If you need to come in to speak to someone in the office, please give us a heads up to let us know you will be entering the building.
Please review the attached file: Tiny Stars Parents.pdf
Are You Paying Tuition By Check?
If you are paying tuition by check, please send it via mail or call us to find out when we will be at the studio this week!
Monthly tuition is due in full by the 25th of the preceding month, and accounts not paid in full after the 1st of the month will have their balance charged to the card on file. Accounts with balances after the 1st of the month will have a $10 late fee added to their account. If a balance has not been paid by the 15th of the month, the dancer will no be able to participate in class until the account is up to date. This policy helps us to focus less time on collecting payments and more time on giving our dancers the best possible dance experience!
Missed Classes and Makeups
If you know ahead of time that you are going to be absent from class, we would love an e-mail or a text so we won’t worry. Missed classes can be made up with office permission anytime until the end of May, and even proactively when there is advance notice. You can keep track of absences through your parent portal.
Please make sure to schedule your makeup class ahead of time. With new restrictions we need to amke sure we do not have too many peple in class at once. If the class you are making up in is a full class, you may join that class in our Virtual Studio.
If you need any items for class, we can get you fitted! Just email or text to schedule a fitting time.
For questions about appropriate/required class attire, please refer to the Dress Code section of the Handbook. Please refer to this guide frequently.
Believe it or not, it is coming up on the time to order costumes! We order costumes in late De ember in order to ensure that ur favorite picks will be in stock and delivered in time for Picture Day in May. A 50% deposit is due Ocotber 25th and the remainder is due November 25th.
Cotumes fees are $74 per class and include 1 pair of tights per dancer for each color. The exception is for Shooting Stars and Dance ADventures (see bloew)
Shooting Stars and Dance Adventures Costumes
Costume companies are doing things differently for the combo-costumes this year. Previously the prices have been all inclusive of pieces in the combo classes, however they have changed that and are charging each piece separarly. Therefore the 2-in-1 cosutmes are a bit more than a single costume but less than 2 separate costumes.
$120 for both styles (ballet and jazz, 1 pair of tights)
$74 for one style
$120 for 2 styles
$148 for three styles
It’s Share week! Join us virtually for the last couple minutes of class to view what these fabulous dancers have been working on- log in with the zoom link for the studios, make sure your camera is turned off and your name is listed as your dancers name, and enjoy!
Water bottles should be considered part of your dancer’s dress code to ensure hydration throughout the class. Please make sure students come to class prepared!
Private lessons are available to any student who would like extra work outside of regular classes. Please contact email@example.com with any questions.

Our parking lot can be a little tricky to maneuver. When entering, please veer to the right. You can park in front of the building, on the side near the trees, and around back. When leaving, please follow the arrows and make a loop around the building. It is a one way parking lot. This will help with the flow of traffic, especially during high volume hours. Please make sure to watch this video before dropping off your dancer so that they go into the correct door!
Studio Tour Video
If you are new to Joy of Dance, it might be helpful to sit down with your dancer and check out our Studio Tour video located on the “About” tab of our website.
This will help new students understand how to navigate our studio.
We are bringing back the use of Props Bags for our youngest friends, and would love to be able to get you one! You can stop by the studio to pick one up, or let us know if you need help getting one.
Free Class Week
We have a special offer happening! You must register for classes that have open spots. If you bring a friend and they sign up within 24 hours, you get a $20 account credit PLUS our referral program bonus of $50 account credit after 3 months!
NEW Office Hours
To ease the chaos of questions you may have, we will be providing office hours during the week. Office hours will continue throughout the year but may be subject to change.
We are looking forward to another great year!
